We use Dolpac... we used to use Milbemax every 2 weeks until 12 weeks then every month until 6 months, then every 3 months, but Milbemax doesnt cover Lungworm.....(I think its lungworm ) so we use Dolpac which works fantastically, but is quite a large tablet :(

I've not seen alopecia from spot on treatments. I like advocate for lungworm prevention.

Panacur paste for our clients,monthly till 6 months, then move on to Drontal.

We've given up with these spot on wormers, maybe we had a bad batch but 4 of our cats had terrible alopecia.

Sorry forgot to add, the 4 cats were in the space of a few weeks,and 1 happened to come in when our waiting room was packed out, and the owner made a scene about the spot on!

I thought Milbemax treated the same as Drontal which is why i switched to using it instead of drontal as the tablets are smaller and clients always moan about tablet size!

If not using Advocate then Drontal/Milbemax monthly until 6 months old.

We use Advocate monthly with Droncit every 6 months. Or Drontal/Milbemax every 3 months if they'd rather use a different flea treatment. I personally like to use Advocate for lungworm prevention.

Chocolate flavoured worming, nothing like encouraging dog and owner to use wrong type of stuff.

I wasn't going to mention products but Milbemax shouldn't be used with advocate (both have same ingredients). I get your 1 week apart so milbemax not in system when advocate applied, but what about the rest of the worming required for the next few months? Milbemax is not effective against the most comman intestinal worm that they get from fleas (I'm not going to try to spell it) and advocate is not a full broad spectrum wormer.

It's a shame really because I like the size and dose range of milbemax tablets, so I'm a drontal and advocate monthly. I use panacur on the really young and profender on the really small cats rather than try to get half drontal tablets in their little tiny mouths.

I had a client in today with a puppy that had had a chocolate flavoured worming paste from the petshop - quality!!!!! I quickly gave them a milbemax. we are moving on to advocate monthly until 6 months of age then give milbemax - always give a week apart

The advise is to worm monthly till they're 6 months with full tapeworm and round wormer.

It would be lovely to think that all puppies and kittens came wormed at 2, 5, 8 and 12 weeks but usually they've had only one worming and other cases none at all. If they're presented before vaccine then getting them started straight away. Most are presented at vaccine so at 8 or 9 weeks old so just start worming then and monthly there-after.
