Worked in cake mix factory. Did those dry pre packed caked mixes.

Funniest thing was when McDougall were doing their inspection, days spent scrubbing the factory. All the big wigs and bosses looking at stage one on the mezzanine floor above me. All of us waiting for the mix to flow out below to us so we could pack it..

Lift 1 mix flour info hopper

Explosion of white as Everyone up top dissapears and sudden fog descends into building.

The lads had been really nervous as they had been having such a hard time of it they had not got the base bolts up properly on the trapdoor lift box the bottom fell out as it got to about 15 foot and well before it got over the hopper.

I was hysterical with laughter, most others were shocked to silence l still laugh about it now.

my first vet was alcoholic - 1 vet 1 nurse practice , it could be very interesting sometimes

Worked in Woolies cafe, cleaning tables, Saturdays and holidays while at school.

Did 9 months volunteer work at a Wildlike place, while unemployed.

Worked in a church community centre as receptionist then got first job in a vets, in 1987(!!), as a 'nurse' - a non-training place, single-handed vet, who was also an alcoholic..... so my induction to the vet world was memorable, but also perhaps a vision of what to expect??!

Spent 2 years travelling round India, Indonnesia, Thailand and then lived in Sydney and among other things, worked for Bausch and Lombe, making Rayburn sunglasses, cleaned in a hotel that was used mainly by sailors, coming into port, so not much immagination needed, for things that were found! and also worked in a huge Sony warehouse packing up all their electrical goods for orders.

Have also had a gardening job to supplement VN wages and mortgage when needed, but mainly have always done nursing!

i havent started at a VN job yet so im still in a my "job before vet nursing" which is a night shelf stacker at ASDA, so glamourous and it pays the bills

Local countryside park- dishwasher, muck out animals, bottle feed lambs and calves.

Riding stables- groom/general dogs body

Saturday girl at local vets

Vetnurse in big mixed practice- left after qualifing

Test custimer on trains and in hotels (lots of fun)

Travel agent in New York (basicly a paid holiday for 6moths-did no work!)

Office admin in design company, london (paid to be in the pub with the boys)

locum nurse RSPCA- very frustrating, PTSing healthy cats to make room for manky flu kittens

Vetnursing again, longterm plan do do mostly behaviour/dog training.

first job in book shop love reading so loved the job

cash clerkess

went to Jersey, did bit of chambermaid work, bar work , nightclubs, waitressing

riding for the disabled

started vn training in 1987 mixed practice

locumed in australia

picked fruit, cleaned house while travelling

worked in office at my mums nursing home

pdsa for 16 years

now locum mostly ooh, and in partnership with a vet in our own business.

Used to do tuck in's with community nurse as well, that was a great job, I loved talking to all the old dears

Well as l said in a previous threadwages when l did my BHSAI were £2.50/week

Greyhounds was £17/week and went up to about £30/week by time l left he always paid us below the tax and ni threashold he said to save us money l did not realise how much it cost us though in reality. It only saved HIM money.

I started my nursing job pretty much straight from school but had a couple of pocket money jobs!

Worked in a chippy.
Paper ropund.
Home work from local electronics factory which involed clipping bits of plastic onto tiny little brass screws.

Began my working life 4th Jan 2000 at a chemist, as a dispensing/counter assistant and became a qualified counter assistant. Was still in school and in the holidays worked for HSBC bank in the evenings 7-11pm doing data input, basically processing cheques for £5 an hour. Started college doing animal care at Myerscough Sept 2000 and continued working at chemist and bank until Sept 2001. Began Saturday morning work at a vets where i'd done my work experience whilst at school and college. In November 2001 began work as an student VN, but didn't start my RCVS VN course until Sept 2003 when i moved practices, as my previous boss was a d**k xxx

Worked undercover at local zoo - dreadful

Volunteer warden at Nature Reserve

Started my career Vet nursing at PDSA aged 24

Captive Animals Protection Society - loved it

Back to vet nursing

Now locum nursing and I have my own pet sit business and nearly 48 years old....

this is all ive done since school. although i have done work on days off /hols like lambing in a shed, helping on the farm, rolling wool at shearing time etc

Self emp. video prod. l did graphics and donkey work.

Worked in a warehouse picking for shops.

Ran animal rescue kennels in Tenerife and helped with money collections

worked as a kennel maid at a boarding kennels they also bred persians and bearded collies, place was a dump and a disgrace guess the word gives it away... breeders.

Head zoo keeper Tenerife Sur Zoo.

I also done waitressing when I was 14, and also cleaned the place on a sunday for an extra 14 quid....lots of money in those days for my age.

Racing greyhounds for 7 years. Had 70 dogs and up to 100+ at some points in the year.

Me three! worked as head girl of a breeding facility for over 4 years!

Also worked as head reception and PBX operator of the Marriott in atlanta and dunwoody in the US.

Worked at two coffee shops and a petrol station for 6wks lol NO!

Camp councilor and head of the horse riding at two camps.

Nanny when I first moved to the UK cash in hand.

Volunteered at the Battersea Dog and cats home for 2 yrs.

Taught horse riding and helped groom and excercise in Dulwich.

then worked at a vets in south london as reception and started training with the head nurse there to be an animal assistant and learn some nursey things.

Moved to Salisbury after divorce and worked at an eventing yard for a few months.

Then moved to Somerset and worked as a SVN until i got fed up with the practice and they f'd me over.

Now workin as receptionist and animal assistant at a small family practice and i'm stuck :(
