Am so excited and nervous as I have a student nurse interview next week!!! Just wondered if anyone had any hints for the interview?? Good questions to ask them and the kind of thing to expect to be asked.

Thanks!!

Re: Interview!

Congratulations on your interview!

My suggestions are: research the practice you are going to, look up their website or articles about them in the press and use this information eg "I was interested to see that you have a vet with an interest in exotics" or "I was impressed that you have laparoscopy at the practice"

Underline that you are excited and willing to learn and are aware that there is a lot of cleaning and less glam parts of the job...

If you have experience with other people's animals rather than your own mention this more. Most folk looking into vet nursing have pets but they would be more impressed with you looking after other people's animals.

Also they may ask you about your ambitions or your ideal practice, take care to not say you want to be head nurse and all pushy because that might be offputting, maybe just say that you just want to be a really great VN as that will be rewarding enough

Smile, make eye contact and don't drink 10 coffees beforehand cos then you'll be all mad and shakey!

WOOP!!! GOOD LUCK

Re: Interview!

If you do a search for interview tips, or other key words you'll find loads of threads about this.
