What a GORGEOUS lil boy!! Aww, so glad you found him a home. I'm determined to rescue ferrets one day. Once I'm sorted, can't wait!

I am glad the little fella is sorted. Ferrets are my favourite domesticated animal and are too often tarred with a wrongly bad brush.

He has a new home - sorry for not updating this post...I don't get much time to get on the internet these days and then completely forgot about it!

He was castrated and went to Bishop Burton college - one of the nurses I used to work with went to teach there so got him in that way.

In typical sods law style - after keeping him 2 weeks trying to locate his owner, the week after we castrated and rehomed him his owner turned up at recpetion to collect him! Luckily his reaction to being told he had been rehomed and given the contact details was "ah its fine, let them ave im" - so I think he is in a much better home now!!! We never even got as far as telling the bloke he had been castrated, he really didn't care that he's gone

Have you managed to rehome this guy yet? I would take him myself if my own Gills weren't currently being fostered by a friend(in selby ironically) as I am in temporary accommodation. There is a ferret rescue in otley which is just the other side of Leeds if my geography serves me correctly, I saw them at an agricultural show. Let me know if you're still struggling, I have a few ferret contacts in north Yorkshire that may be able to help. X

Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions! Sorry for not updating again sooner, haven't had a spare minute!

Thanks to those of you that have offered homes, but I'm struggling to find anyone willing to transport him so far south.

We have put up posters around where the local area, and had dome interest from a couple of people so hopefully that will bring something up. I don't think we have any farm park type things locally, but something that I will look in to. I also have someone making enquiries at the local agricultural college.

I'll try to keep you guys updated!

(Melvyn is currently blissfully unaware of his homelessness and getting on with everyone!)

you could also try and farm parks if there are any (decent) around your local area. They are sometimes willing to take these little guys on. Gorgeous boy!

Definitely interested! I'm an RVN in Nottingham, & love ferrets!! I currently have a castrated male who was a rescue through work, so it would be with a view to them becoming companions. Only tricky thing is they would need to meet to ensure they got on, & we're a fair distance apart.

i have a few ferrets so would take melvyn on, i have 1 blind one now also had one before.

The only thing is iam in hertfordshire, so would need to find a way to pick him up. If this help let me know?
