About 10am today someone brings in a stray cat about 5-6 months old, saying he said was hit by a car. I am of course a huge animal lover, but I cannot see why anyone (even those who aren't animal lovers) would do something so utterly evil.

Our practice had a call from a concerned member of the public warning us a neighbour of hers had been making threats to the other neighbours to set rat poison down if cats kept coming into her garden. Because cats understand that and all...

Worst thing is that justice dealt is not great enough in my opinion, most who are guilty of animal cruelty aren't given much of a punishment at all.

Re: cat shot with pellet gun....

one of the biggest reasons i regretfully keep my cats indoors, i just ensure they have enough enrichment in the house to keep them entertained. too many pschos in this world :-(

Re: cat shot with pellet gun....

This makes me feel sick to the stomach!

The owner was going to have him put down as had no money and the leg needed ext. fix. I couldn't bear to see this otherwise healthy 5 year old serengeti put to sleep along with the vet...... yes I got them to sign him over to me. I paid for ex. fix that then shattered the leg further so we opted for strict strict rest with the view to amputation. We didn't need to amputate luckily and he only has a slight limp on wet days which he has metacam for. His piccies and story are on my website. None of the pellets were removed.

Re: cat shot with pellet gun....

How terrrible, 2 weeks ago we had a cat referred to us after being shot in the leg and shattering its femur! Recently had one shot behind the ear pellet exited through the eyeball! Had to remove the eye.

Another shot in the chest, luckily pellet lodged just near to the heart! After some major chest drains and stabilisation cat survived but cannot remove the pellet.

Then last week another cat shot twice, once in the nose and once in the chest, luckily cat survived and we were able to remove both pellets.

Makes me so sad and angry that people do this to innocent pets, i hate to think what id do to someone if i caught them having shot one of mine.

Re: cat shot with pellet gun....

some people are just mean!
