Supermog have you tried contacting any of the colleges they might be able to give you a better idea. It would be a bit unfair if it was nvq1 equivalent I did an nvq 1 in catering hygeine in a couple of afternoons and was definitely nowhere near the degree of learning required for ANA

thanks for that - the bit I was after was a table that came somewhere after that page and although it was related to QCF I cant seem to find exactly what I am looking for even gone onto the ofqual site

there used to be a bit on the direct gov website that gave you the equivalent levels - just been looking but not found it yet if anybody else can find it?

I did my ANA before i started my two years of vet nursing course, gives you entry into it. (or it did when i did it ). Gives a very good understanding esp of the anatomy and phys, i found it to be very useful, and something else to put on the cv.

I would think it would be more like an NVQ level 1 as 1st year VN qualification was level 2 when it was NVQ based
