&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#39;d say initially get either the BSAVA book or The complete textbook of veterinary nursing and some form of veterinary dictionary (there are specific vet nursing ones available) to start with and maybe see how you go from there so you&amp;#39;re not spending too much at once!
