I would revise your booklets that you are sent out and do the extra questions - the ones that you do to see if you've understood the reading! Not just the ones that get graded.

Just be sure you understand what you are revising - if not there should be an exotic book or 2 in your practice.

Re: Nursing of Exotic Species (C&G) Telford

blooming ek!! Thanks for the heads up!!!

Anything in particular that you feel would be worth reading?

Re: Nursing of Exotic Species (C&G) Telford

Hi, I did the C & G Exotics cert at Edinburgh Telford College a couple of years ago and the practical exam is easy - but very outdated!!

They set the room up with approx 30 tables, each table has either a photograph, an item of surgical importance or a scenario and you have to either identify, or pick the right instrument for the job. Some of the photograph quality is dreadful and the photographs of xrays are pure dreadful. We all complained about inconsitencies and incorrect answers on our practical exam.

For the practical you need to revise - reptile anatomy, crop feeding tubes, general wildlife info - such as legislation and rehabilitating and releasing and wildlife as in patients - most are pretty straight forward, but some are designed to "test" you. We had one table with 5 bags of non discipt bird seed and asked to identify them!!

You will all be fine, but I would recommend a little extra reading

Re: Nursing of Exotic Species (C&G) Telford

Aw, thank you that is so very kind.

You need to get in touch with them, as I hear rumours that this might be the last year for this qualification, therefore the last time we can sit the exams I would think. Here's the email address of who I contacted recently about sending me more course work:

claire.fulton@ed-coll.ac.uk

Thanks for the info and good luck

Re: Nursing of Exotic Species (C&G) Telford

have you finished all of your assignments??? i'm on my last ones- i didn't get a letter!!

Re: Nursing of Exotic Species (C&G) Telford

i believe its lots of tables set up with various questions i think that there are quite a few!! I'm usless at exams!!!

Re: Nursing of Exotic Species (C&G) Telford

2nd September Starting at 10am, I believe.
