we use ventana/midshires, always having problems, support isnt that great either, hate the damn thing!!!

Are you still happy with Robovet? I'm looking to change our current system, Evolution (Verifac) is just awful and the reporting is next to useless. Not to mention the support.

I've used 3 different systems...NVS to start with. Didn't find it user friendly, thumbs down for that one. When I first started at my last pratice it was on paper records still! We then had Jupiter set up. They were very good at teaching us and it was very easy to learn. We had an internet based system so had problems with no system if internet down. But that was normally the fault of bt! When we had problems with system (like someone accidentally deleting the printer!) they were quick to help. At my new practice we've got Tristan. I don't like it! Been there for 4 months now and still don't find it easy to use. I wouldn't recommend it.

If you read the previous posts on this thread then you might be able to answer which people think is best, there's a couple of pages for you to look through... we use RX Works and I think it's not the best system but would be better than the old Midshires. Have a read through

My practice is currently on a very old midshire system and we want to change what does everyone here recommend as the best one to use? None of us have ever used anything else! Thanks :) x

We currently have the new Verifac PM system - Evolution. I certainly don't see any evolving with this system. Is anyone else out there using Evolution in practice? I'm trying to make ours as efficient as possible and I don't think Verifac are going to help with the process, I'm hoping other users of the system might be able to help me?

I've used a few systems, and liked jupiter for ease of use, getting to know the system etc. But used teleos and found their suppot really good and ease of use good, except a few glitches (silly things, like when you record an insurance claim, it records it under "LAB". Overall, I think I preferred jupiter, but its close!

Thank you, everyone. We have decided to go with Jupiter so I'm glad that the last few posts have been so positive! Just 3 more months of RX Works then the switchover - let's hope the Jupiter support is as good as people have said, it will make a nice change

Jupiter is really good, ive been using it for a while now and they are always updating the software. I guess one of the good things about it is that if there is a problem with the system, contact jupiter and they sort it all out really quickly and show you how to deal with any future problems :)

I've used Jupiter and agree it is very easy to use. Great implementation of reporting tools and other "under-the-hood" features. not as bloated as some other systems with functions that don't always work.

Are there any practices with Mac's out there?

We have used Jupiter for the last 10 yrs and have seen them improve and continually move with the times. Nader and his team are always ready to help with problems and always listen and implement new ideas that you may have to improve the systems. Yes as with all computer companies you get problems but ours have been dealt with quickly and efficiently. The program has so many reports and management tools that help keep control of the business. Teleos I used to think was outdated? But I haven't had contact with them for years?? And rx works all I can say is that a friend of mine worked for them for a short while and said they had very minimal sympathy and support for their clients once they were sold the program. Hope that helps! Do you have a good relationship with other vet practices in your area? Could you ask to have a go on any of their systems?

Hi we were one of the first practices to use Jupiter many years ago. The system has changed so much from then. We find it easy to learn and quite importantly easy to teach new members of the practice to use. I recently moved to another practice and used a different system briefly but they have now changed to Jupiter too. A few glitches as with anything new but find it best to build up a rapport with support staff to ensure smooth communtication. and we know all too well it is very easy to get angry and frustrated when trying to carry on as normal when things go wrong

yes changed to Teleos and it went really smoothly. We had somebody from Teleos in the practice with us for a couple of days to make sure we all knew what we needed to know. I used to be just about computer phobic and found the Teleos system really easy to learn.

I really liked Teleos when we looked at it for our practice, currently thinking about having Ventana, mainly because i left some messgaes for teleos a while back and got no call back! We are changing from NVS windows due to the lack of updates and problem resolutions available, but in all honesty as nice as the sales rep was who visited us from Vantana I am left quite confused about the system and it's suitability for our practice. Has anyone made the transition from NVS windows to any other system and how did it go?

Unfortunately, due to my new position, I am unable to comment about any vet. software, but I know the various systems that have flaws and that something has been done about it.

can Identify with that one - thats why Rx works gets a thumbs down from me.

No access to histories, tx or even the appointments page so no idea who was coming in and when and to see who and the best they could manage was we will call you back. That call was a long time coming and it didnt happen the same day.

Well I've used Provet, Jupiter and Teleos in the past. My current practice is using a system called ventana which is better than all of them put together!
