We use oyster clippers here with the standard No40 blades. i'm looking for a blade guard for them. I've had a look in vet direct, jak etc... but can't seem to find them.
When we clip for scanning we don't need the fur as close as we do

Re: Clipper guards

We use a size 5 and 7 clipper blade, it takes the hair short but not skin bald. We use them for total shave off in our dematt's. But they do have quite long teeth, so may be to mean to go close to elbow with as may cause wound?

good luck with it.

Re: Clipper guards

im a dog groomer also, i get mine from Groomers

Re: Clipper guards

Have you tried a larger size blade? We use number 10 for things like dematts (full body clips) which leave a little fur there.

Re: Clipper guards

sorry, i did mean the with the growth thing. quick typing!

Re: Clipper guards

NOT against the growth of hair WITH the direction of hair growth.
Thanks for the quick reply! We tried the standard guards for people, but they don't seem to fit.

Will try the against the growth thing though, problem is with where we need to clip. its for heart scans so we have to clip under their elbow basically. So sometimes a little tricky to get a nice neat clip

Re: Clipper guards

Try a Hair and beauty supplier? Ask your local hair dressers?

Alternatively when clipping fur go with the direction of fur growth
