I am qualified as a small animal nurse. Have been qualified under a year. I am wanting to look into equine nursing but wondered how I go about this? Do I need to be in an equine TP and how long is the course. Or could I do an open university course

Re: Equine nursing...Advice please

http://www.vetnurse.co.uk/blogs/jobs/archive/2011/07/19/student-nurse-1st-year-145920-rowe-veterinary-group.aspx

Re: Equine nursing...Advice please

arundel equine are looking for people

You should therefore only need to do the equine specific units.

This is somthing that I am also interested in doing within the next year or two so if you find out any definate info then can you please let me know??

I reckon you'd have to cover the modules that apply to Equine nursing.

I remember there was an equine practice looking recently for an EVN or SAVN

here is the list of Equine TPs

www.vetnurse.co.uk/.../0005.TPsEquinelist.pdf

Having a quick look at the website I reckon you would have to complete the 2nd year modules of the new diploma that cover the equine pathway. but your prob best to contact the VN dept
