infact he broke his wrist a few years back. i told him he would have to go get it x-rayed n prob get a plaster.

i think it was 3 days before he went to a and e. because according to him there was 'f' all wrong with him ( that'l be why he yowled in pain with it every 5 mins)

he got a plaster on it and was told to keep it clean etc, rest up a bit. aye right! within a day it was covered in sheep/cow dung, foot rot spray u name it!

i despair!

in my OH case id say he is poss ever so slightly worse coz not only is he scottish and macho hes a shepherd!. so baically his leg could be hanging on by a thread but he'd prob spray it with blue spray, slap a bit of micropore on it and go feed his sheep and insist it would be a leg to him all his f-ing days! his dad and my dad are just the same- there is no hope! lol!

my partner once had a pressurised petrol tank on a motorbike catch fire whilst he was riding it. It resulted in severe burns to the inside of both his thighs which ended up needing months of treatment and skin grafts. His reaction immediately afterwards? 'bleep, bleep f...ing bleep the were new f...ing leathers and then after he had finished in another race ' can you look at my leg I think I have got a blister!' - only after he had collected the laurels for the last race did the stupid bugger allow the track doc to take a good look, and only after being threatened with a hefty blow from a spanner did he agree to go to hospital

lol yea mines goes white at the slightest sign of needles/blood - wen i was gettin transfusions he couldnt cope lol!such a wimp!Then us girlies just sit and get on with it!

It sure was, he still has funny feelings with it, if he hits it he feels it in the palm of his hand, rather than the thumb itself, and it's always colder than the rest of his hand too.

What is it with men and A) hurting themselves, and B) not wanting to go and get it checked.

My hubby was much the same when he chopped the top of his bloody thumb off, obv not completely, but when he showed me it, his words were what do you think??? as blood poured everywhere!!!

hes fine his eyebrow/lid is pretty swollen but hes o.k.

he seemed to quickly forget how shook up he was after it happened, then he reverted to the 'i dont need a stitch, what would u know' school of thought.

he even suggested our farm vet could stitch him up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i despair!!!!!!
