The big failure was leaving him to be in charge of dogs when it was identified that he was in a fragile state - he should have been relieved of that responsibility, not necessarily as a punishment, but to prevent anything like this happening again. He comes with me, even if I have to tie him ip outside shops whilst I go in. I also make sure I walk my dusty were their is a water spot so he can cool down and take his water and bowl with me. I just don&amp;#39;t understand people, scary thing is aren&amp;#39;t these idiots dog handlers, they certainly shouldn&amp;#39;t be working in this field if they can&amp;#39;t be bothered to follow the basic rules to keep them safe. My dogs go to sleep the minute I put them in the car and I&amp;#39;ve frequently forgotton they&amp;#39;re there.&amp;nbsp; I have never left them in a hot car, but I can see how it could happen in a busy working day.&amp;nbsp; It&amp;#39;s not as though he only put them in for a trip to the park....he was working!&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;When you think about once would be awful and shocking, &amp;nbsp;I would probably normally feel bad for the guy and offer him my sympathy.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;However to be that bloody stupid TWICE with the same outcome I have zero sympathy for him. &amp;nbsp;Yes I am sure he feels awful but not as awful as the dogs who died in that car needlessly. &amp;nbsp;I hope and can only think that it is right that he loses his job as a police handler now, because he really should not work with animals if he is that careless TWICE! &amp;nbsp;I don&amp;#39;t want to hear excuses on why it happened because it is the kind of&amp;nbsp;behavior&amp;nbsp;which is in excusable and should lead to him losing his job! I think it&amp;#39;s been one of those tragic accidents where the person wasn&amp;#39;t thinking clearly.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I had a client do the same when her cat got stuck in her conservatory. she didn&amp;#39;t realise and then instead of cooling the cat down sraight away she then brought it straight to the vets in her hot car..... not pleasent and cat died as coming through doors of surgery. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#39;m thankful that my careless moments have not lead to anything, I did trap my cats tail in the door and now she hasn&amp;#39;t got one. Oops, I&amp;#39;ve forgiven myself now but it was an accident.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I don&amp;#39;t think we should be so hard on people especially when we&amp;#39;re not perfect ourselves. He left the dog (belgian shepherd) and puppy (GSD) whilst going to into meeting which lasted approx 1 hour. Temperature inside car reached over 40oc. Poor, poor dogs, in my opinion this man should not be allowed another police dog and certainly shouldn&amp;#39;t be training others. She was left in the back of his car while he did a lecture and when he went back to her she&amp;#39;d died. &lt;/p&gt;

happened to them before and they&amp;#39;re the ones who get called to break

&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#39;m with you on this one. I worked as a dog walker a few years ago and had a lady who insisted her dog went out at midday even in July. I used to take him to the river and let him swim for half an hour instead of running round the park. My two, who normally came with me, were left at home in the cool.&lt;/p&gt;
