His submandibular LNs have went down so think chemo and steroids are doing their job but i now have a walking dustbin

I never ever thought about putting him up for a bravery award - my research hasnt proved to be productive...any suggestions? Most of them seem to be for working dogs.

I know being a nurse to hear the word lymphoma isnt good - im sure its it one of those words we as nurses all dread when we see these patients. But having to nurse my own pet is just a complete different kettle of fish!I feel safe when he is on treatment as i feel i can do something about it but as soon as its finished its just a waiting game til it decides it wants to come out and play again!

Thank you for keeping us posted.

Then we went into the consult room to have a chat and Dinky was so happy, prancing round the room with his giant monkey shaking it and trying to kill it being a big show off!Full of cheek and very happy to see mum lol!So me and his oncologist are trying to have a serious conversation except mad Dinky with this silly monkey is chucking it round and playing lol - lucky that his oncologist finds this amusing lol she called him a clown haha!

Managed to get a copy of his CT report so i can take it to my boss on monday to get his opinion to for his spinal issues- discovered he also has degenerative disk disease of his thoracic and lumbar spine with chronic mineralised disk protrusion at several locations!OMG

He is not needing sx but doubt anyone would want touch him anyway in his state!

How on earth he still charges around like he does is unbelieveable!

So we got home and i though he would like a quiet nite just to chill after his traumatic few days - did he heck i went to put my car keys on the hook and he decided he wanted to go for a walk!So he was told just a wee one and so we went to our usual place and in he goes for a swin in loch! That was him sticking his fingers up me then lol!

So he has had his dinner and is crashed out having sweet dreams now.

Re: why are things never straight forward!

will be great to have him him home I am sure!

Re: why are things never straight forward!

Morning!

Yes Nick it is the Dick Vet school we go to and that would be great if you could pick his brains for me.

We have been very lucky as i know most dogs dont cope with what he has been through so far but he just gets on with it!

Another plus point is we now know his back pain isnt related to his lymphoma so it helps me know he is not in pain from his lymphoma but with something else that can be managed - but he is not lame cahrges around like a loon- the only thing that was odd about him was he didnt want to jump into he car but he would happily jump out without discomfort!Hes very good at hiding things from us!

Il be able to have a good chat to the oncologist and nurse tomorrow - Saskia I agree i know tramadol can be used with NSAIDS as a few of our ortho patients are often on it - but to be honest i dont know about the steroid part - I vaguely remember when he was first diagnosed he had some tramadol and had been given an injection of dex- will find out though.

Will have a hunt for Selena!Thanx
