It's a fantastic piece of equipment and it really does keep patients' temperatures stable during surgery and post operatively during recovery. I find they recover much quicker as there is less risk of hypothermia.

Re: bair huggers

Speak to Tracey - tannison@aasmedical.co.uk tel:08456024330. We got a recond humn bair hugger - do internet search and there are a couple of comapnies do them - then we use the washable blankets from vet instrumentation. Fab for warming up hypothermics quickly and good for preventing it too!! Definitely a worthwhile investment imo.

Re: bair huggers

i agree we have one and they are really good, some people dont like them so they are not used as much.

Re: bair huggers

Forgot to add, it makes massive difference to patients. The patients temperature is always stable throughout surgery when using them. The blankets come in all different sizes which is great. They can set you up a contract so you get the machine free if you buy a certain amount of blankets every 3 months. The company are friendly and very efficient.

Re: bair huggers

I've never used them in veterinary practice, but I had one used on me when I was recovering from GA - it was amazing!
