Wow really? I probably know them! lol! small world :) yeah def, they will guard whatever she likes as well as the sheep, we have rehomed one to a lady who breeds llamas and nother has gone to a showjumping stables.

I have a weird interest in flock guarding breeds ever since I read Coppinger and Coppinger's book. We have a Maremma who come to work- she's amazing!!!

Vet friend has a small holding with rare breed sheep. She lost a good few lambs to foxes and crows- i told her a flock guardian is the way to go! Could work and have fab country life! Will passon the info!

Hi, Yep we are, we have one due in July but unfortunately 20 people on the waiting list!! After that, We will be mating another bitch next season so shouldnt be too long to wait! We are one of the few (about 3) breeders in the country,which will be why you couldnt find any! If you look on http://www.maremma-sheepdogs.co.uk/ thats the GB Club site, it has all our contact details and news about litters/the breed/upcoming events is all on there :) glad you love them!! i think they are the best dogs in the world,but im obv biased ;) if you like, pass our email jacquinikx@aol.com onto your friend and get them to email us if theyd like a bit more info on the breed and our dogs in particular. Hi ! A vet friend of mine was thinking of getting a flock guardian (and pet!) and can't find a Maremma for love nor money!?! Any planned litters in the future??? LOVE them!!! xx

nonononoooo! no! nothing like golden retrievers!!! google one,then the other,and you'll see :p its a bit of a sore point for me, alot of the public think so too at discover dogs,but next year one of the people we have coming has a goldie and a maremma,so going to put both on the stand to show the difference :D aha thanks, ill upload piccies of her when we get them. theres pictures of our last litter on Milwyr Sheepdogs on Facebook. super fluffy, super aww factor!

Oh i've not heard of them before, had to goggle them! They look similar to golden retrievers to me, but more fluffy! Good luck with getting your new pup into the country....and pics needed

Because we breed Maremma Sheepdogs, a beautiful and ancient breed which orginates from the Abruzzi region in italy, so occasionally we will import a puppy as a brand new line into the country they arnt taken away any earlier than normal, plus the journey is normally done with us in our van, it was only due to a family death that we couldnt go this time.This pup is our 5th import, the others are all happy,well adjusted dogs. Caius went to crufts 2 weeks after entering the country, appeared on television and cuddled up to a tiny disabled baby all in one day!

Hey sorry for the late reply...yes i am likely to be relocating permanently lol such a lovely place! Another travel company is skypets, apparently they are run by vets but I dont have any experience of these but I have heard they are pretty good. Hope the move goes well x

Out of interest, why are you getting a pup from abroad as opposed to getting one from this country? Personally i'd be worried about the pup, being taken away from it's mother and then going through all the stress of transportation. Hope it goes ok for pup.

Ah thank you. Weve managed to persaude the people who will be doing her pet passport to drive down to the france/italy border and a woman who is having a puppy too has flown over to drive them up to the border! Its a huge undertaking but it will be worth it when Gigi arrives thanks for all your help and good luck with your own flying dog!!

I dont know of a specific airline but if you contact jet set pets then you can arrange everything through them and they are very good! I highly recommend them, I am transporting my cat over to the Cayman islands in Decemeber to be with my.....sooooo excited!!!! they have organised everything for me including the transport box etc so they should be able to help you out
