As a cat owner I think its digusting and completely unfair, but as a veterinary nurse...........he was very easy to handle and it was nice not to have to remove the claws from my arm/shoulders/neck and not having to worry about the vet geting scratched.

He did seem to be a clingy cat (probably because he wasn't able to hold on if I did let go!)

It redirects behaviour instead of trying to sort the problem. This can cause even more stress and lead to worse problems. Have seen a cat with repeated fus owner had long nails and polish refused to remove the "cute covers" from cat despite what was going on. And warned by god knows how many vets and nurses. I seem to remember cat ended up as pts due to health problems and with what was going on it was better off dead. I just hope the creature that owned him did not get a new cat.

If you do not like what a cat does naturally then you should not have the cat.

If your cat has a problem and you are to lazy to sort the problem then the cat is better off being rehomed and if you can not sort it pts it is still kinder. Force stopping one behaviour without solving the problem will redirect it to something worse.
That's what a PROPER BEHAVIOURIST is for not some scum ball selling death hell caps to make money and torture cats. And if they were not all those pretty colours no one would buy them.

If you furniture is more important than the cat ... do not get/keep the cat.

The cats nails can not sit naturally they are forced out all the time not allowed to sit normally in the skin. This is uncomfortable.

The glue will end up causing damage as the nails do not break off naturally they will also like human nails end up soft and useless.

Just some of the reasons l hate the things.

Only useful reason l have heard of.
As a short term medical use someone here has seen them used in an allergy cat scratching itself to bits that was fine. it was supervised to ensure that it was not stressed, there was a reason medically as soon as it was resolved they were removed.

Your pet does not live with a buster collar on, it can be removed for various lengths of time if need be. If you use one then you acknowledge your pet has a problem you are trying to solve. If the animal gets stressed then there is other things you can try to keep him from his wound. You do not use it to save your net curtains/furniture/stop brat from being bitten.
