POHMB - I was thinking that if there were enough people interested then the charity could be voted for - joint decision n all, but it MUST be an animal charity

As far as I know the walk is dog friendly (better had be!) as long as you do tenting!

As long as vets aren't excluded let me know when and how - I'll do my best to be there. My dog will love it........

If anyone wants to share a car from the Manchester area that woud be fine too.

That shouldnt be a problem - I can cover 10 miles in a morning just walking around the village

Check out the route links I posted at the top of the thread Sal - I think its about 15 miles a day .

As a 16 year old I did the Crisis for Christmas walk from Canterbury to London - 60 miles, 2 days, no training - I'm a bit fatter now lol, but if I could do 30 miles a day then, then I can sure as hell do 15 miles a day now.....even if I have to crawl :)

ok then as long as we take it steady - I am not as young or as quick as I used to be ( last time I walked in this area our group was lead by an army instructor from Catterick and I am sure he tried his damndest to kill us, it definitely worked as a practice team bonding exercise because at the end of the weekend we were all in total agreement - ie we totally hated this guy!)

I'm not fussed about tenting it - will prob have to with the pooch, but a colleage said she'd rather B&B - I suppose it depends on getting names & preferences in good time, so that everything can be booked. One of the villages we'd stop in has the pennine way passing through, so I'm guessing any sort of accomadation will have to be booked in good time. Esp over the Easter weekend if thats when we go for.

Although saying that, I have often turned up at Edale unannouncced (start of the peninne way - this year on Easter WE) and got a pitch no worries... Prob wouldn't get a B&B so easily tho!

I may well be up for this then - esp if it is next year. Are you planning on tenting it? I did a survival weekend in Hawes area quite a few years back but I suppose I was a good bit younger then and my back was in better condition for a backpack

If you get to the nearest train station Sal, I'd come & pick you up - ETA - and take you back again afterwards.... lol!

Katie - it would probably have to be over a long BH weekend - easter seems most promising, but then loads of people will probably be busy then .....
