I told them that I wouldn&amp;#39;t accept less than &amp;pound;18k so they upped it. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;However, I wouldn&amp;#39;t recommend doing that unless it&amp;#39;s a practice that you are familiar with. I knew that the partners valued my work and was pretty sure that asking for more money would not backfire. &lt;/p&gt;
