Depending on how strict your college is being with how recent your cases have to be, try looking back in your hospital records or if you remember a dog fitting the trauma description then use that... I used a GDV from nearly 2 years ago :o) xx

The assignments are set out by the RCVS as they state the points you must cover, its just the beif that may differ.

I know how you feel about being the one of the first lot to do these assignemnts, im sitting my final exam beginning of July and i still have two assignments to hand in due to our sylabus :-/ Weve had no guidance throughout either, yet one of the May start students in practice has been shown examples!! Alright for some :-p

Sounds like youre all set with your cases though, just dont forget that your dog will need to be a trauma case thats had major surgery and in need of intensive care ;-) xx

this has helped thanks so far i have a anorexic tortoise and a blocked bladder cat, just need a dog now im sure one will come in.

i didnt realise that it would differ from college to college i thought they were set by the RCVS. i think its more how they want it to be set out but im sure once i start it will come to me. its just anoying that we are one of the first years to do these assignments and nothing to go on really.

Im in the middle of writing this :) im using a ruptured diaphragm dog, blocked cat, and a fox with neurological issues (just to add an exotic in there). The way im reading the brief, theyre asking you to explain how the patient was triaged, including communication with the admin staff, and client (history in a nutshell etc), and how you prepared for its admission. The rest really is about nursing care involved, you'l find that youve covered the majority of these whilst writing your case study and may just need to expand in certain areas. Anything you dont cover, just stick it in your discussion as can be done/used, how, and/or why :) Hope this helped xx

Assignment briefs vary from college to college as it is internally written - it would help if you posted your brief :)
