In theory, I appreciate being registered, and being responsible for my own actions.

However, I dont think there is enough invested in the profession to force the VNs in my era to be RVN. I dont feel confident with the RCVS. I dont feel confident that any VN would have support against VS if wrong calls were made.

I also find it completely obscene that a disciplined RVN will remain on the list....

yes put basically a VN is a LVN or a Listed Veterinary Nurse who is not regulated and an RVN is just as the title suggests a Registered Veterinary Nurse who has accepted regulation. My question is that if those that qualified after the cut off feel that they should have been given the opportunity to choose for themselves (its not really about what their choice would have been)

I cant remember having a choice when I qualified or not? So that means that I probably didnt?

Sal, when you qualified what did they say the options were? As it used to be just VN didnt it, instead of RVN is that what a LVN is?

The whole thing confuses me slightly so I dont know what I would have chosen.

Yup I think i'd have appreciated the choice. Don't know what my choice would have been, but would have looked into it before deciding.

I qualified and listed but then wasn't on the list ffor a year so i had to go RVN. I think choice is good for most things and I would always like to have choice for most of what I do in my life. However not bothered for this particular matter, I would have chose to be RVN.

I think i qualified about the right time to be able to choose whether to be LVN or RVN and i choose to be RVN, im happy to have the option to choose and happy with my choice
