Thank you Phrin, you really inspired me. I have just signed up to do the exploring science module! I never thought, that I would ever go anywhere near a degree.

Have you looked into the Open University? I am currently studying this - there is a whole range of courses in science, and a number of degrees, foundation degrees, diplomas etc in science that you can study towards.

If you earn under a certain amount (can't remember the numbers, but I qualified as a VN on full time wage), then they can partially or fully fund some of the 30 and 60 point courses.

I've almost finished my first year, ie all the level one courses I need, but haven't decided which degree to go for yet - but is doesn't matter, as you can change your mind, and all the work is modular - 120 pts per year. Great support both from tutors and fellow students, and all done via distance learning. Highly recommend it!
