Lol yes its clear once you're sending the forms off!! i've got enough hours whether worked out on 35 or 40hr week (not incl. overtime) so i'll just send it off signed for the 40hrs and see what happens

just after we have done the minimum of 2 yrs training and slogging out guts out!!

Guys, guys!

WARNING!!!!!! Work the hours out based on 35hours. I did the HE route and worked mine out on 40hours, then sent it in after signatures had been applied.......only to get a rather disgruntling letter telling me that the standard is 35hour week and that I had insufficient hours to class as this!! Grrrrrrrrr

Too right Bloody RCVS - they don't make stuff clear do they!!

ive just done mine and although i do a 40hr week, worked it out using 35hrs and u still shud have enough to register

that was with me having a month off with a broken wrist as well.

I tell my students to calculate this on the actual number of hours per week they work (39 for us). Never had a problem. I disagree with RCVS stipulating a lower number than they are actually contracted to work. Remember though that you can't include overtime.

We've always worked it out based on a 40hr week and never had any problems. Our iv has just done an interim report on our level 2 students portfolio and it came back with a comment that we can only claim 35 hrs but no explanation why it has changed.

It depends if you've been classed as a full time or part time student.

Full time can claim anything over 35 hours per week.

Part time can claim anything between 15-35 hours per week.

I only have my practicals to do, but I haven't worked mine out on a 35hr week. And some weeks of mine will be 40hrs too, my tutor has not mentioned anything to us! So unfortunatley I don't know. But that was how I was going to fill it out
