Im Katie qualified nearly 2 years and I was looking for some advise from anyone who has ventured to Oz for some locuming? I am desperate to explore Oz and do some work out there to fund my adventure. Where should I go? Where should I stay

Re: Locuming in Australia!

Keep an eye on kookaburravets.com for positions available, you can go straight to the source rather than via an agency, they both seem to always end up with the same ads only kookaburra actually gives you details of location where vetlink doesn't. As far as 'being safe' is concerned,Australia is a fairly civilized place (canibalisim was outlawed recently, just kidding!) but it really isn't necessary to travel with a buddy! You should be able to travel around the country nursing along the way, the only problem may actually be moving on from one place to another! Feel free to ask if there are any areas or clinics you need more details on and I'll try to help. Good luck :)

Re: Locuming in Australia!

Hi Katie,

I was looking into this too ffor after I leave uni (sadly not til next year!)

It seems like an ideal way to travel and keep expenses down :) theres a website called vetlink http://www.vetlink.com.au/ that posts international job vacancies ect, and offers CV/visa advice ect (ive never worked with them, but i keep an eye on the site just to be nosy at the job vacancies )
