as far as i know, aloe gel is not toxic topically. however it is advised not to be ingested. people should only consume the stuff once it has been treated and designed for oral use. a small amount is usually ok and just causes GI problems. as always if prolonged symptoms or any problems then to be checked

however as always i would recommend any animal that has eaten aloevera plant to be checked and then to ring vpis.

One place says yes, then one vet site says they can cause GI upset but doesn't mention any toxicity.

Hopefully someone on here will have had personal experience with this and can clear it up, lol.

Re: Aloe vera plants, Poisonous or not?

I was told they are, but I may be wrong.
