There is a girl who comes in every Monday + Tuesday to 3 oclock. At the minute I am finding that I dont get time to do the nurse things that i am trained to do

Re: Advice on being a nursy nurse

one nurse per vet + 1 is my fav ratio :)

I'm a head nurse and find it hard to be hands on, paperwork seems to take over my life, I need to learn to delegate :o/

Re: Advice on being a nursy nurse

I'm the same, I'm the only nurse in a brand new practice which is all it requires at the moment, but because some jobs take two people, I find it's my Vet that takes blood and does iv cannulars and I just hold. Tis boring but once it's two nurses it'll change. Just hold out for more staff.

Re: Advice on being a nursy nurse

Get a better ratio of nurses:vets!!! (I'd have thought 2 nurses per vet is a better idea???)

Otherwise I can't see how you can be a nursey nurse when you're having to do everything on your own!
