I am sorry to hear you that feel BVNA does not provide nurses with up to date news on important issues.

BVNA works hard to represent its members and keep them informed of any news and issues through the monthly journal (VNJ), regular press releases and the BVNA website.

We also welcome members to attend the BVNA council meetings as an observer (prior notification of attendance is required) and the minutes from each meeting is freely available for members to view via the 'members only' section of the BVNA website www.bvna.org.uk

BVNA supports its members and is happy to discuss any issues that a member feels unsure or unhappy about, but as you can appreciate is unable to fully communicate with non-members as contact is limited.

I can see that your membership with the BVNA has lapsed and would be very grateful if you would please provided me with feedback as to why you decided not to renew your membership with us. Your feedback is extremely important to BVNA as it enables us to develop services for our members. My email address is angela@bvna.co.uk

I would like to meet you in person to discuss my concerns but as I also have veterinary nursing commitments and I live quite some distance from you this would not be easy. It is true I do have grave concerns about the way VN Council functions specifically relating to how decisions are made and the future of the listed VN. Thank you for the link - hopefully what I am able to read will clarify some of my concerns and if not I will be in contact in due course.

I can see from this post and others that you have concerns about the way VN Council functions and the transparency of RCVS processes. I must admit to not being a regular visitor to these forums but I can asure you it is not because I am out of touch with nursing but rather because I have veterinary nursing commitments which take up my time. I would very much welcome an opportunity to meet you and discuss your concerns further, please email me at lbranscombe@vetspecialists.co.uk if you would like to arrange to visit me at work (Davies Veterinary Specialists, Herts).

With regards to your query about minutes, the minutes of VN Council meetings are freely available on the RCVS website as in line with other professional bodies, I know that in the past the website has been difficult to navigate but the new site is a lot easier, here is the link: http://www.rcvs.org.uk/about-us/committees/vn-council/ click on the date of each meeting and the minutes should be in a pdf bundle on the right hand side of the page.
