If you are a BVNA Member you can use the FREE Legal Helpline, they should be able to answer any questions you have and tell you what exactly you are entitled to.

Log into the members only section of the website www.bvna.org.uk or give the BVNA Office a call on 01279 408644

Thats rubbish but at least you can get something while you are off, dont forget once baby here you can apply for child tax benefit and working tax benefit. I didnt know about these until my little boy was 4mths but you can apply straight away for extra bit of income. it all helps! Good luck and congrats! x

I can't even get SMP .. been employed at the same vets for 11yrs & start my maternity in July and due to the fact that I've not paid enough NI in my 'test period' .. I've got to claim maternity allowance instead!

better than nothing though!

Just SMP. If you have any non-pay benefits, such as a company car, healthcare, free vet fees etc, then you are also entitled to those as well as SMP. Not aware of anything else...
