&lt;p&gt;As it turns out she had a v.vbad bacterial infection so high doses of antib&amp;#39;s and bath was all that required. Was worst i seen and v.vsmelly but never seemed to bother her, she&amp;#39;s such a sweet placid girl. Anyways its all started to clear up now which im relieved at.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Thanks for your responses guys, its been a very very hectic few weeeks for me with the move etc&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Could the black scabs be dry blood?? just thinking if he has an irritation (fleas / allergy etc..) he could be chewing himself silly.&lt;/p&gt;
