Thanks K am chewing fingernails will put photos up once l have them am so nervous but going to make it a day for Brian and I to enjoy will enjoy seeing Craig and spending the day with him and a good gossip. Will change at the club was worried l would have to be dressed up all day and that would have been a disaster!

I don't live in London so have no idea how the prices compare - I just found the system very easy. Not sure how it can be expensive though as it does cap the fare when you get to the travelcard rate. Maybe you mean paying the deposit (which is refundable)?

I am zone 5-1 now to decide all day on peak for £15 or off peak £8 thing is l will be at the station for 6am or so if got off peak would mean 3.5hr wait decisions decisions may snooze in car as leaving so early will find out what time Craig and l are to meet up l think take it from there. Going jubilee line direct to green park it is only few hundred yds to the RAF club from there so handy when it finishes Thanks for all the help on tickets and zones oyster card wasn't worth it for this trip.

WIll check out zones tomorrow and tuesday see what is where thanks will be pretty emotional and exhausted as well as leav home 2am take about 3 hrs to get to stanmore and want to park there hence so early so need to keep it simple.

I leave here in the morning and drive home after a 13hr shift have mum out tuesday and early hours leave wednesday think l will be making a lot of use of services to sleep.

We went to London last year and found the oyster card system very simple. You can buy it online so you're ready to go when you get there - no looking for kiosks or machines. Just load a travelcard's worth of credit. We got the deposit and unused money refunded when we left but you could just hold onto it and it's good to go if you visit London.

Do you know which Zone your destination is in? (Or Stanmore?)

Its cheaper if you only want a One Day Travelcard (unlimited all buses and tubes) for a couple of Zones than for Zones 1 - 6. Also cheaper if you go out after 9.30am.

You may find yourself having to use a ticket machine - our tube rarely has a person there any more - so might be easier to look at TFL website to make sure you buy the right one. The machines are very confusing

No theres no point for a 1 off visit, oyster cards are mainly for people who visit london frequently or live there. You can buy a day pass at the tube station which lasts for a day and allows you unlimited travel on tubes and buses.
