did you sign a contract? If you did, make sure you read it. When I left my job recently apparently I wasn't entitled to leave loading for holidays, so I missed out on some money. I didnt even know about it and I had been at this clinic for 4 years. I felt cheated as my contract had changed twice over the period I was working there

I hope you get what you are owed. I got some help from the legal line via bvna who explained things to me. It goes back over the years, so may be difficult to resolve. Luckily I did get my overtime from the bank holidays I worked last weekend so can cover the rent! Not looking forward to my last few days :( But looking forward to starting my new job :)

If you do decide to go the route of a tribunal, just make sure you don't fall into the same trap as one of my (non nursing) pals did recently, You have to lodge the intent to start proceedings within 3mths of the date of whatever it is. Presumably in your case it may be 3mths of receiving final payslip, in her case it was 3mths from receiving redundancy notice but as she thought it was 3mths from when she left, she missed the boat and lost her case on those grounds, which was extremely frustrating when she actually had a really good case!

hi. Im in a similar situation at the mo. Have left previous job a month ago and still trying to get it sorted as only got paid just over half my normal wage. Like you i was expecting near enough a whole months pay including my 4 days holiday and 4 days of overtime built up in lieu which i should have been paid for! Anyway i have approached the old job and i an waiting for them to get back to me so we shall see!

Hi, if its a genuine discrepency and you can't resolve it, I would recommend looking into an industrial tribunal. I had a problem a few yrs back (not in veterinary practice) and putting the tribunal wheels in motion just pushed them to resolve it and I didn't have to go through with the action in the end (although I would have done). Luckily I am a member of the BVNA. Thanks for the advice, I think I am more dissappointed because I expected it if that makes any sense! Has anybody had a similar situation, is the tribunal approach more than its worth?

could you maybe telephone the practice today and mention that you think your wages may be incorrect and ask for a detailed written breakdown. It could be a genuine mistake and asking them to check this way gives them a chance to put it right without being confrontational. if this doesnt work then CAB is definitely worth a try

Are you a BVNA member? If so Id give their legal advice line a call to see if they can help. Or maybe citizens advice too.
