He is gorgeous and so poorly kept. We Felv/ Fiv tested as he was entire which came back negative.
I'm sure it was the owners that bought him in a plastic boot tidy and hessian sack saying it was a wild

Re: How can they do it?

We get this at our practice all the time too. We hardly ever don't have at least one stray in. Recently, a cat was brought in to be put to sleep-just old and lovely, so we managed to rehome him, another 'stray' brought in (but we think it was the owner) hyperthyroid and in desperate need of a dental-which we did and when the vidalta caused her a skin reaction we also did a thyroidectomy-the cat is hopefully being viewed by a new owner on Tues. Kittens dumped in reception, adults dumped in boxes outside-whilst it angers me so much I'm so glad they get left with us, at least we will always try to help them. Keep up the good work everyone

Re: How can they do it?

They buy them on a whim "oh it's so cute", etc, etc. Find out it poos and wees, scratches furniture, barks, needs more looking after than they realised, costs money, gets pregnant, etc, etc and decide they can't cope.

Why isn't there a course people need to pass before they are allowed to buy an animal - like you have to take a driving test before you're let loose on a car?

I work in a rescue as well as doing VN degree. I had someone once wanted to dump their cat as it didn't go with their new furniture! Last week had mummy dumped, pregnant with 4th litter - going to throw her out if she gave birth. 7 kittens born less than 24hrs after we took her.
