Im Lindsay, been employed by my practice since 1998, been qualified for 6 years, worked there since leaving school, however they were currently bought out by a bigger company and thus redundancys have been made, with me being one of them :

Re: Help.............redundancy

have you looked on the job section? theres a phone job that you do at home, might be useful!

I moved jobs just under a year ago, relocating to the north and found a job very easily, there were also quite alot of part time roles around at the time, just keep your eyes open in all the mags/websites etc and something is bound to turn up

Re: Help.............redundancy

Hi ladies

Thanks for your replys

Lucy I'm in the north east unfortunately.

Due to being in the same 'quiet' practice for so many years I'm not sure I've got the confidence to locum tbh :-( but thanks for the ideas, i might have to take the plunge and register.

As for the company that took over the only jobs they could offer me were reception roles, one near by but the other one not. Unfortunately the one near by was considerably less hours than what I was originally on and it wasn't the type of rota to be able to fit in with childcare etc.

There is a fair bit of locum work around at the moment which may tide you over, though would depend on your location or where you could travel to (I live in the north east and there's rarely jobs going around here so end up travelling elsewhere).

I can guess the group that your practice has been taken over by-are they able to offer you work at any of their other practices?

Hope you get sorted soon.

You could also consider ooh work too maybe?

Good luck.

Re: Help.............redundancy

Hi Lindsay,
