What do people recommend for E.cunniculi? as a preventative and symptomatic? Just trying to do a practice protocol for vets, nurses and receptionists so we all say the same thing? Dosing should also be considered during periods of high risk such as when rabbit is aquired, prior to mating and when mixing with other rabbits.

1 graduation per 2.5 kg daily for 9 consecutive days.

We vaccinated against myxo twice a year, so usually reccommend worming at the same time. Would living in the countryside increase the risks? We are in the city, and none of our clients are breeders so our vet feels twice a year is fine.

Re: Worming rabbits...............

We now recommend Lapizole. We say one off treatment for 28 days. If another rabbit is to be introduced to a rabbit which has already been treated, the new rabbit should be kept separately and treated before introduced.

I recently went on an advanced rabbit nursing course and we discussed worming in rabbits and how worming them using Panacur 3-4 times a year doesn't really benefit the rabbit but it is really down to personal preference.

I own rabbits and am more than happy to use Lapizole for 28 days as a one off treatment.

Re: Worming rabbits...............

panacur for rabbits
