That is sad, it drives me mad people taking on these pets with no idea of what they are doing. If I can cope with stinky wild hedgehogs in my back bedroom these guys would be awesome! My partner always wants me to keep the wild hedgehogs I have been releasing as well so I don't think I will have to try too hard!

This website is amazing, all the breeders use it, so you can find out lot about them here.

Sorry I dont have any first hand knowldege, only of wild ones! Where are you recusing from? I love hedgehogs and would love to have a rescue one.

I clip the claws on a little one quite regularly, he is a proper character! They are a bit messy, love mealworms and are super sweet! If you have any specific questions get in touch and I will try to help.

There is some information on some of the exotic pets forums, www.pygmyhogsuk.com, TSKA (the specialist keeper association) may have care sheets as well. I love them!!!!!!!!!

looked after one post leg amputate - was pretty friendly to start with. Had a real taste for mealworms
