Opps should have said think some folks will be in the bunkhouse and l will be in CB so should be lots of people around and usually find jumpers there who will be camping or sleeping in their vans quite a lot have their own caravans left there full time or have rooms in the bunkhouse etc.

No fee to camp and lot of space, loos and 2x nice hot shower blocks all free. Cafe and food or snacks during the day and shaggys bar at night. Kids and dogs welcome on leads and have to stay out the clubhouse and off the packing grass you wont be popular if they pee or poop where folks pack but lot of jumpers have dogs.

And please can someone with a car can run me up to the Unicorn if you are staying saturday night we can have a smashing not expensive meal the rump steak is wonderful my standard fare it was the last place Brian and I ate together

Definately!Definately! I'm now not jumping (have potponed it till later in the summer) but am still going up on the Saturday to support everyone else who is jumping and also get to meet people and put faces to all the names I know..... am now really looking forward to meeting everyone..... so everyone who is on here should come up to say hello..... it would be so good to meet as many people off here as possible.......

My parents insisted on sending me to a catholic school (sigh) 10 miles from home, so never got to know anyone local - have moved around a lot since then, and have ended up back in my home village, where thanks to my parents, I know no one in my age range, apart from via a friend of a friend etc!

Can't move as little man is settled and making friends

Feel very isolated. All the local groups are run by the same clique - ventured there once never again!

Darn, I'm west west london work wise, outside m25 living wise, although on a main line so my transport situation is usually pretty spot on. Thats the problem I have, all my work friends live east, I usually go to them, but it becomes a pain always having to go to them, they'll never come my way :(

Too expensive to live in London.

Hey guys, I'm actually not new, been here a few years but never posted!

And yeah I know it's long hours but I get Thursday and Saturday as a half day so not all bad! London's just so bloody hard to meet people!!

I'm in North London btw.

t'was only a comment. reading it back, it does seem a lil harsh, I was just a bit suprised by that. Was going to suggest she looked into evening clubs and things, to get something outside of work (I realised that is what I had to do, as I lived away from london and was living a lonely life chatting to the walls) but working 70hrs a week would make that difficult, I do charity work and things in my spare times.

Where abouts is your clinic, I mean area-wise? Central, clapham, greenwich, north london? I could do with getting out more sometimes, and my other london based friends seem to be making other plans/pregnant/have kids etc.

Lots of people here to chat to, if your quiet at work, pop on as there is usually someone around online. I'm not a mean person, honest. I'm quite nice (although usually stressing about something work related )

it really depends on the terms you accepted when you took the job - there are still quite a few places where you sign an opt out of the 48hr rule when you sign your contract
