There`s a more recent thread about this course in the forum. Simon Girling [the guy who wrote the course] is planning to start it up again in the near future....he said there`ll be an announcement in the veterinary press about it so fingers crossed

oh no i was hoping to do those course this year, and there definatley not running them elsewhere? ive been wanting to do the exotic course for years and am now in a practice and position that i can do this, its very unfair to VN's - will def sign the petition

I have spoken to Telford College and due to lack of government funding it looks like all the VN courses will no longer be available at Telford College. I spoke directly to C&G re nutrition and exotic courses and there is no future plans to run these elsewhere!!! SO yet again another stumbling block for us nurses!!!!!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE all ensure you and all your colleagues sign the petition to SAVE TELFORD COLLEGE!!!!!!!!

I too am struugling Katietaz to find out more info about te exotic course at Telford so I have got their number and will give them a ring

Was gonna recommend the course at Telford to a friend of mine whos an exotics nut, but can't find it on the Telford website

It does however come up on Hotcourses, so dunno whats going on

I've been reading up on this course quite a bit recently, as I'm starting at a new practice in a couple of weeks that specialise with exotics. It's something completely new for myself as my last practice used to refer most exotic patients elsewhere. Fingers crossed Telford doesn't get the chop as I'm most definitely considering this course.

I'm thinking of going to the Excel Nursing Exotic Patients CPD in Derby, (which isn't until March.. next year.. forward planning I know, but it's something I'm extremely interested in!!) and was wondering if anybody had/has attended this CPD in the past and if they found it useful? and if they thought it was well worth the £200 they're asking for?

The course itself is very interesting, however the exams are once a year in Edinburgh :(

If you like exotics, its a very good course to do. However, not a lot of nurses use what they have learnt as the vets course is a lot better and more indepth and more up to date
