I have never been an A! assessor, and have been trained as a clinical coach this year, and have just started the NPL log ysterday with my first student (there was a mix up with the log on data, that took ages to sort) anyway, I'm feeling

Re: NPL...Once again!

snap, i was never a A1, but now a CC. I asked my student written questions based on elements she was shaky of which then went in her evidence file. she found it really helpful.

i was quite daunted especially as my student was a second year but I refused to sign anything off if i had even the slightest doubt or could think of another scenario that would occur fairly regularly that she hadn't yet included: i.e. she asked for setting up theatre- getting correct instruments for the procedure but I refused on the grounds that there was no evidence of setting up for a non routine procedure and stated that she had to set up for a big ex lap such as a pyo or spleenectomy and an orthopaedic repair

Re: NPL...Once again!

We used to use CAW as our VNAC but have since transferred to another college who aren't as supportive and can be really hard to get hold of.

It's just a bit scary really! Especially never having been an assessor before, so it's all so new!

My VNAC is college of animal welfare, so I will give them a call later and try to speak to someone!

Thanks for your support!

Which college is your VNAC?
