I have a HTC desire. I got it as it was cheaper than an iPhone and seemed to do (for me) as much as I'd want from the iPhone.

I've had mine since August, I like it but I don't love it and regret not getting an iPhone. My Desire battery doesn't even last 12hours - without heavy use, with heavy usage it'd be lucky to last 4 hours.

I am reasonably happy with it but if I could turn back time I'd have an iPhone in a flash.

There are a lot of cheap/free apps for HTC and in reality it suffices for me, but I do long for an iPhone.

It occassionally overheats also.

Ive dropped my iphone a million times and the screen has never shattered, i think you'd just be unlucky if that happened.

Also i have never paid for an app, there are so many free ones there is no need to pay for them unless you really really want that specific app, but that has never happened to me so far

I have no idea, but apparently the iphone's screen shatter if they are dropped? - my sis got the htc an she loves it.. the apps are loads cheaper than apple ones too..

Cost of both not an issue as l have negotiated them to a free handset so down to running cost and £5 more / month/iphone4 than the desire

I've got HTC wildfire and really like it. Only downside is battery life, I charge it every 24 hours. I personally find the iPhone too big, mine fits in my pocket nicely. And I could not justify spending so much money on a phone, my HTC is nice and cheapish!

i wanted to get an iphone as my ipod is full and dying and can't afford a new one (hate the 6th gen nano so will have to fork out for 5th gen) and thought 2 birds, 1 stone but the monthly payment plus the iphone itself was too much so ended up with samsung galaxy.

really like it (most of the time)

I have the desire and won't be with out it now. The reason I went for that over the iphone was it had more choice of free apps to download, you can customise it to suit your needs ie, home page you can add widgets that you use the most meaning quicker access. I really love my desire as does my partner.

I would definitely get the iphone, i could never get another phone after having an iphone. I know people who have htc phones and have played around on them and honestly dont think they are as good.

I have iPhone 3GS and love it! Battery isn't brilliant though.

Not got either but a few of my friends have regretted getting the i-phone 4 and wished they had the htc or have switched to the htc.

I love phone upgrade time, usually have half the demo's out to decide.
