"Platain is good as a soother, and to help with haematuria, that is one which is likely to be easily available. I would be tempted to put echinacea in their water for 4 days too (then go back to fresh water only for a minimum of 2 days). Dandelion leaves will help flush things through as they have diuretic qualities and blackberry leaves as an all round settler."

She said that fresh leaves best but if you can't get hold of fresh then use dried. I order dried plantain for my pigs from Centaur, it's made by Burns. They love it!

Hope that helps x

ps, i've just noticed where you work, down the road from me!

Re: bordetella in guineau pigs!

that would be great!! thanks vicky!! x

Re: bordetella in guineau pigs!

I've just had a thought, our receptionist at work has lots (17 i think) of rescue bunnies. She feeds them various different herbs and knows which ones help with different problems so i'll ask her if she can suggest any to help your piggies. She is currently doing a course in horticulture and is growing a selection of herbs for my piggies

Re: bordetella in guineau pigs!

Thanks for your replies! what probiotics do you use?

They are prob off food due to their breathing and blocked noses - offer things grated that dont need to much chewing - mine love fresh herbs and they are smelly too so may tempt them.
