Anyway, a candle dripped on my jacket when it was over

Re: Removing candle wax?

My mum got candle wax out of my sisters satin dress by putting a brown paper bag over it, then a t-towel - then iron it It worked too!!

Re: Removing candle wax?

I know, It's so irritating! Eventually it will soak into the brown paper and dissappear..

Iron over the waxy area on the lowest heat and keep checking every 10 seconds or so. The wax will melt and the newspaper will absorb it. Be careful not to overdo it though because if the wax gets too hot it will soak into the jacket even more and be even more of a pain to remove! Move the newspaper around as well so the wax gets soaked into a new bit and remove any waxy newspaper or it'll just melt back on somewhere else!

If you need to, do it a couple of times, taking a little wax out each time, and let the jacket cool down in between so as not to damage the fabric. I used this technique to get white candle wax out of a red fleece and it worked perfectly.

Re: Removing candle wax?

Thanks for the suggestions It's also been suggested to go to dry cleaners with it.
