i was hoping you would all give me your honest opinion on this one. Last year I organised a charity dinner dance for the Animals Asia Foundation and it was a roaring success. Tickets were £25 each and included 3 course dinner with tea and

Re: what would you pay?

Thanks everyone! Its not as formal as a ball but I suppose its still the same composition really. And Sal the idea of £30 including a raffle ticket is a very good one. We did do a raffle last year - just small prizes for £1 a strip and made a lot of money off it. I will do research into your suggestions and see what I can get out of people! Last year Intervet and Bayer sponsored the event which paid for the band, so without sponsorship its not viable to do it because the band is costly, I'm just hoping the drug company's will be just as generour this year even if its not the BVNA charity of the year anymore.

Thanks guys!

Re: what would you pay?

My first thought when I saw it was £25 was 'Wow, thats pretty cheap for that!' - so I am certain that £30 would be fair! I have seen charity tickets for much more in the past.

Good luck!

Re: what would you pay?

sorry - I had assumed that you were doing a raffle like we did - having read the original post I now see you arent. Have you thought of going round some of the local businesses for quality raffle prizes or maybe doing an auction? some of the jewellers have been very good to us in the past. You would be surprised how much they bring in but you do need quality prizes or the sort of prizes money cant buy. Try contacting some of the film studios and see if they will donate some merchandise from a film (signed by one of the stars preferably), signed books and photos and the like can bring in a lot and cost virtually nothing if you hit on the right stars. A days experience gifts go down well too and we had two Brands Hatch racing days donated to us just for asking. You may need a license for a raffle or an auction but they arent that difficult if you contact the local council.

Re: what would you pay?

have you thought of going for £30? I helped organise a couple of these events in the past and the sort of people who attend them usually like figures with a five or a zero on the end so they dont end up carrying a lot of coins and at 29 they will end up with at least one coin - or you could put it at 30 and say give an entrance raffle ticket for a small prize non serious prize and leave any bigger prizes for the main draw.

Re: what would you pay?

I think that £29 is a great price.
