Killing some time on a kinda quiet afternoon at work.

I am wondering how often people change the display boards in the waiting room.

And also what sort of things do you guys do?

Thanks in advance,

In the past I have seen display boards used to great effect covering things like fleas, worms, weight, fireworks etc.

Personally, I think that a notice board with all the staffs piccies, and a short bio would be very helpful for clients, client retention, communication etc. I've suggested it a few times at work to no avail.

I also think that notice boards about specific conditions eg hypert4, dermatitis and so on etc will probably be of little use - Better I think to use issues which most, if not every client can relate to - ie parasite control, nutrition, fireworks, dentals, vaccs and so on...

Just my opinion, and I am no expert!

Re: Display boards

Hey, I've had to start taking all the previous display board stuff home so that it doesn't get thrown away - got loads of stuff in my car at the moment.

Freebies aren't an option here as the boss doesn't like to give stuff away.

Have you thought about doing a quarterly braveheart award, is a good display and goes down well with clients. Companies normally keen to sponsor this sort of thing we currently give free bag of food, 3 months flea control and wormer and any other freebie bits I have lying around.

If you want ideas I have some display stuff saved on computer files if you PM me I would be happy to email to you if this would help.

Re: Display boards

We don't have any staff meetings. I've tried getting ideas off other staff members but always fall short. Hence it being left to me to do at home in what little spare time I have what with all the extra stuff I do while I am at work. I have the problem of stuff being opened and thrown away before I get a chance to use it.

I've asked my boss for help or even ideas and his only response was some thing that will make me money.

Re: Display boards

I agree you shouldnt be doing them at home. Do you have monthly nurses meetings? if so get everybodies ideas for boards and allocate specific nurses to take their turn so everybody gets a go. Most will rise to the challenge

Re: Display boards

you shouldn't have to be doing these at home, contact drug companys there are lots of ready made displays. vetoquinal do a good urinary incontinence for propalin, dechra do good skin, and hyperthyroidism ones, bayer lungworm etc.

Re: Display boards

i try to do ours every couple of months have so far covered, dental awareness, rabbit fly strike etc, bonfire night, dogs in hot cars during summer, xmas dangers, i,e, choc poisoning, xmas tree dangers etc, and am in process now of doing pet travel scheme one,

Re: Display boards

I am going to try and change ours monthly its just being able to have the time to create them at home

Re: Display boards

Monthly, content depends on if there is a "special" month.
