Can anyone tell me how I can tame him/her. I've been putting my hand in the cage and talking quietly to it, a couple of times it's sat on my finger for a few

Re: Taming Budgies

Oh dear!! lol

Re: Taming Budgies

Nothing, is the worrying thing!!!!!

Re: Taming Budgies

Hahahaha what have you been drinking???

Re: Taming Budgies

I keep thinking this says tasting budgies.....

Re: Taming Budgies

our indoor ones never got injured they seem to learn to adapt to the space and obsticals

Re: Taming Budgies

Thanks for your help girls. I always thought that it was better to clip their wings to stop them injuring themselves when out of the cage and that maybe they would be easier to train. None of our budgies had their wings clipped, we had an outdoor aviary and also kept some indoors.

Re: Taming Budgies

I wouldn't wing clip my budgies just cos thats what they're meant to do - fly - cos they're birds. My budgies have the cage door open all the time so they can come in & out as they please - except at dinner cos they fly onto the table and steal the chips off your plate! They usually stay in the lounge but once or twice I've found them upstairs in the bedrooms.

With my budgies I've always just sat and spoke to them for hours with my hand in or near their cages. Its always worked better when they're on their own than in with the other budgies. I've also tempted them with split grapes on my hands, my budgies can't resist them! It's really just perserverance and patience.
