I am currently trying to get my first role within the veterinary profession and so am sending out my CV for receptionist or animal assistant roles. I just wanted to check - is it detrimental to apply for both in the same letter? Would it make me

Re: Job Roles

Thanks for all your responses - they are really helpful! Think I will check out what the roles are like and then also say I am happy to do receptionist work if there are no animal assistant opportunities.

Here's hoping!!

Re: Job Roles

I agree with kirstykins I would apply for the job you want the most, so if you want to be an animal nursing assistant then apply for that.

But mention in your letter that you would be interested in anything else they have to offer for the time being untill a vacanacy arrises.

Good luck with the search

Re: Job Roles

I would apply for the one that interests you most and mention in the interview that you would be willing to undertake duties that are required for the other roll. If they like you but do not find you sutible for your chosen position they may offer you an interveiw for the other one. In my last job the position I got was not the one that I had applied for but suted me just fine.

Re: Job Roles

sorry but I'd say the opposite.

It depends on the practice I suppose though - find out whether the roles are separate or whether the nurses do a lot of reception work anyway. In my practice they are separate roles - and require different skills.

Re: Job Roles

I'd apply for both!
