Ah right I see. Does this mean they may reappear in future? I was worried it had been permanently discontinued. I may give them a call tomorrow. Thanks for the info!

I think its all on hold currently due to the fact that telford college may be closing due to lack of funds

Hi Dawn, as far as I know all veterinary courses have been cancelled this year due to lack of funding :s our Saturday girl was meant to be going to go pre-veterinary nursing but they have pulled all of the courses.

Hi, I really want to do this course but I can't find any info on it on the city and guilds website or the telford college website... please don't tell me they've stopped doing it! :(

I agree that the tutor Simon Girling is very good and marks my work within a day or 2. Shame it takes the college about 2 weeks to send them to him from the time they recieve them!

Two of us from our practice did this course last year and the only problem one of us had was at the end when one of the certificates went walk about in the post. Several phone calls, emails and 2 months later the certificate came through. As previously said, Heather is the one who is most helpful.

Found it a good course, the only issue I personally had was the lack of time to do revision at the end.

The course is really good and Simon Girling the tutor doesn't actally work at Telford so they send the assessments away to him to be marked. He does respond very quickly and is very helpful. I found the main girl Heather that dealt with the work to be very helpful but there was a spell when she was off ill that I had a few problems. I did my vet nurse training through Telford so know the collage and the tutors. It helps to know who to contact. Some are more helpful than others.

the course is fine, just the college is a bit slow. i found the response from the tutor very quick.

Such a shame, I'd like to do this course as it seems the only one about but all I hear is how shoddily organised it is...

I am guessing that the college and your practice are vat registered. If they are not willing to issue an invoice l would tell them you are reporting them to HM revenue and customs for their failure to do so and go ahead and do it as you are unable to sort practice accounts and they have 1 week from the date on the letter to do so. Should soon see invoices winging out the door very fast.

i got a compliments slip with handwriting on it in place of a receipt!!! my practice didn't reimburse me in the end

I have been told that my invoice 'should' be emailed to me today. Should?! Either it will or it wont. How hard is it to send an email??

On a more positive note, I am really enjoying the course. The notes are very imformative and I am learning loads. Its a shame there is only one place that runs the course.

I have done the CG exotics course through Telford and didn't have any probs. Have you e.mailed Heather Murgatroid? She usually responds quickly and sorted a few things out for me when I did the course.

From experience I've found Telford to be very difficult to respond to email/telephone enquiries. Hope you get a reponse soon.

Think our lot had half term last week....scotlands hols tend to be before english ones -maybe different for colleges though.Have to say they arent the quickest at getting back to anyone- def keep badgering them!
