I understand what your saying by pulling together and i agree we should, but the big bosses dont come and talk to us, it just goes through other people and its not like it was discussed with us and said 'sorry its fallen on you guys but it would be a great help if you did this..etc' i think we would have been more receptive and understood..its when you are just expected to do something and be fine with it if you see what i mean... sorry am just ranting now!

thats what i had thought to do- see if i can come up with other solutions and put it to them and see what they say. Its going to be trying to fit 7 people onto a four week rota with two on each weekend... i will rack my brains and hopefully come up with something!

depends on what your contract says really.

Only you will know if you work for a fair practice or not - but if it has previously been a fair practice and isnt doing quite so well at the moment then maybe these measures have been adopted to cause the least impact on all staff members? maybe other options would be a lot less palatable, maybe if this is upsetting all the nurses they could come up with another alternative between themselves and discuss it reasonably with the bosses. Sometimes we all just need to pull together to get out of a spot and maybe when things improve working conditions will improve with them.
