I did the practicals last June, and I got the general instruments task, rather than the ortho one. If I remember correctly I got

Gelpies

Spencer Wells forceps

Mosquito forceps (the difference in artery forceps was very obvious!!)

Mayo Scissors

Metzenbaum Scissors

Allis Tissue forceps

Bachaus Towel Clip

And ummm.. something else that I can't remember!! Possibly Olsen Hagars or Mayo needle holders, or perhaps gelpis?

Also had to package and label a pair of Iris scissors

My tutor last year, and my fab colleagues had me and the other students identifying all kinds of instruments, and I remember being relieved when I walked into the exam, and saw that they were ones I was used to using daily, and that I knew! I found the vet instrumentation catalogue, and the arnolds catalogue fab! Both for reading, and also for flash cards, which was my main way of revising for instruments especially the ortho ones.

I hope that helps!!

PS - rather than set up a task at work, we got out just about all the instruments we could, laid them out, and quizzed each other! Worked really well, but we were lucky to be having a relatively quiet patch at the time, so we were able to do so.
