Same here. Phones me from Holland for me to "fix" her poorly cat.

My in-laws idea of worming is to give the dog a damm good curry!!!! need I say more. Which is why my 3 dogs food are all weighed out in seperate pots, in day order including the 1 biscuit sweetie for when they go to the shops!

One of our receptionists got a lab puppy recently and the breeder told her that she needed to feed the puppy ad lib to make her 'nice and fat' and then put her on a diet when she's a year old! The receptionist told them she worked at a vets and was told 'you don't want to believe everything the vet tells you'!!!! She gave up trying to argue with him in the end, but i've got a feeling theres going to be a fair few one year old labs with hip and elbow problems in this area pretty soon!

Friends and family are the worst! My mums bf wants to get a lab puppy and almost got one from a friend who accidentally bred his bitch with a friends dog. As much as I love labs I wouldn't touch one with a barge pole unless it had come from hip scored parents and even then I would be paranoid about it's joints. I think I have drummed it in to him but will have to wait and see!

Oh now see, I have 4 sisters and one brother - out of all of 'em, only ONE realises I actually know what I am talking about!

My siblings atm have - an obese xbreed with joint problems who gets cake, chicken skin etc as treats, a dog half bald, who when I took to the local vets when I was up there was prescribed tx that was never paid for (oh until by me when i phoned the vets to check if it had been paid), and never administered (except by me for 2 days), and an old man arthritic cat, sorely in need of at least some pain relief!

Aggghhhh!!!!

A staffy owner who had a 1st vac only on his dog who at the time of first vac we noticed some bald patches which we suspected were demodex but he didnt want his dog 'messed around; so skin scrapes were never taken because he didnt want them done.

My mum went to a puppy farm! Started feeding all sorts of rubbish.

I think the only thing she listened to me was when I met him, my first words were 'get that dog insured'.

She's been luck he's had colitis, skin problems his joints are rubbish and now just had £4000 cruciate op on both legs.

He is lovely though and I do like it when he smiles when I see him.

forgot to add I was working for a charity at the time and total cost for 1st and 2nd vac was 15 pounds, it wasnt like we were out tomake a profit we just wanted to try and prevent this disease really taking hold and we just couldnt afford to provide it for free.And the dog with the skin condition - if the owner had bothered to bring it in it would have been treated donation or not.

Grrrr! We have clients like this......my friend told me not to worm my puppies as it gives them diarrhoea......my friend told me to put sudocrem on my dog's bite wound.......my friend told me to feed puppies rice pudding????!!!! No matter what we say, until the friend corroborates, we might as well be talking to ourselves!!
