any ideas

Re: clinical audit

Is this where you review cases that you have had?

My last practice did a clinical audit on all the routine spays and castrations for dogs and cats over the last 3 month. They looked in to where wounds broke down on which ops. Where pain was noted and delayed healing. They did lovely bar charts and graphs to show the problems. One thing from that was there was no data for cat castrations - mainly because no one was seeing them back, so this changed.

You can do a clinical audit on a few cases you've had during the week. Hospital and surgery and just review, postives and negatives of the case. Changes you would make. You will need a Vet to help with this but your nurse could assess how the cat was looked after, was it slow recovery, could special feeding, heat, pain relief etc. have assisted in speeding up recovery.

If your student has a case log that you could look back on, and now with more knowlege look at what was good, bad and what would they change?

Sorry got on a roll then.... .... hope this is enough?!
